Vanity Break is an interview series where trailblazing women give a sneak peek into their beauty and wellness routines… because taking care of yourself isn’t vain — it’s vital.
Blake Gifford is an attorney and content creator based in Chicago. I’m always stunned by how talented she is at multiple things. She’s a jack of all trades and a master of… all of them! Blake can slay an outfit one minute, serve as a beauty influencer another minute, and then turn around and complete jaw-dropping interior design projects. Needless to say, her commitment to getting things done in style (and doing them well) is impressive.
Let’s get into Blake’s Vanity Break:
Walk me through your skincare routine.
My current routine consists of [using] Hada Labo Foaming Face Wash two times a day, Black Girl Sunscreen during the day, Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum and Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil at night, and Hada Labo Milk. I also use Drunk Elephant’s A-Passioni Retinol Cream three times a week and their T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial once a week.
You only have 5 minutes to slay your makeup—what products are you reaching for?
- Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
- Urban Decay Naked Palette
- A good brow pencil
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
What keeps you going on the days when you want to give up and throw in the towel?
Well, having bills is always motivation not to give up lol. But I also focus on the fact that nothing worth having comes easy. You just have to keep swimming.
You have a knack for DIY home projects and decor. What are your top tips for someone who wants to spruce up their space for spring?
A fresh coat of paint, indoor plants, and airy window treatments.
You seemingly manage to do it all. What advice do you have for someone who is struggling to manage their time and get things done consistently?
I always recommend planners, checklists, and reminders/alarms. They always help to snap me back into my schedule when I get sidetracked.
